St. Johns River Specialty License Plate

The St. Johns River Specialty License Plate is a great way to show your support for preserving, protecting, restoring and celebrating Florida's American Heritage River.  The tax-deductible $25 fee is passed along to the St. Johns River Alliance for its programs.

Special Promotion Now in Effect!!

During February and March 2013, SJRA will refund the $25 fee for purchases of a new St. Johns River license plate.  (Sorry, renewals are not eligible for the rebate.) Background
The St. Johns River Specialty License Plate was signed into law on October 1, 2010.  The full text of the bill can be found here.

How Funds Will be Used
Each St. Johns River License Plate sold will generate funds that will be utilized in the following distribution:

    50% Community outreach and access programs
    30% Competitive grant program for community-based (or county-based) research projects
    10% Promotion/marketing of the license plate
    10% Administrative costs associated with the above activities

This distribution system is set in Florida Statutes and is audited on a regular basis.

The St. Johns River License Plate is available for purchase at any Florida Department of Motorist Services with this form or your local tax collector's office (click here for locations).

A specialty license plate gift certificate is a great gift for birthdays (when registrations and tags must be renewed) and for the holidays.  If you would like to purchase a gift certificate for the St. Johns River License Plate, you can visit your local tax collector, DMV, or purchase one online here.  There are three levels of gift certificates available.
